My approach to directing Ebony was gentle and attentive, focusing on her wants and needs. She was clear about wanting to maintain an air of mystery by not fully appearing in the video, so I guided her movements to help achieve that effect.

CINEMATOGRAHY

I relied on natural lighting and the artificial light in the underground, which required fast-paced location scouting and using apps to track how the light would move across the town.

We shot the entire music video in slow motion, so I had to capture dynamic moments, ensuring that something in the frame was always in motion; otherwise, it risked looking like a still image at that frame rate.

COLOUR GRADING

The color grading needed to be rich to emphasize the tones of the morning scenes and make each shot truly pop.

FILM EDITING

In the edit, I meticulously combed through every frame to select the best captures. I focused on finding the most evocative moments that would convey the feeling of a Brighton morning after a long night out.
